Girls Fish Too!

#I’ve been fishing for quite some time now and over the years I’ve been noticing a major change. This change that I’m talking about is the increase in the number of women fishing. As a kid growing up fishing I rarely saw the opposite sex out on the old muddy river bank. Nowa’ days I’ve been seeing all kinds of girls out there. And its not just the “Tom Boy girl” that is out there fishing either. I think in the years past I think women weren’t out there as much because there was an old school notion that it wasn’t “lady like” to fish or only unattractive women fished. #Today however women from all walks of life are proud to show off their latest monster catches. To me this is great for our sport. Fishing is just gonna’ get bigger and bigger as more women get involved in this once male dominated sport. The Canadian tournament scene has more and more wife and husband teams like Simon/Melanie Frost and Mike/Mary Nabulsi who has just recently received Team Of The Year honours from the Quinte fishing series. And more and more father an daughter teams like the Bates duo are popping up as well. It was also great to see Kim Bain from Australa to make it into the Bassmaster Classic as the first woman ever. More fishing shows with women hosts like April Vokey and Mariko Izumi are popping up too. I’m also proud to admit that my wife out fishes me now and then (see pic below with 7lb4oz largemouth caught by Mrs. Jessica Murata @ Big Rideau). This change in the fishing industry is all good in my opinion. I guess what I’m trying to say is “you go girl,” hahaha!! Just my two cents of the day….#

Get Fish Or Die Tryin’!!

Peace,

T
