About Taro
Taro started fishing when he was three years old. His grandmother Corrine Pentland was the one who took him fishing for the first time. They were at a stream in Kirby at a friends country home and this is where Taro caught his first speckled trout. It was this little six inch trout that had ignited Taro’s fishing fever. Ever since this day Taro has fished for anything that swims. Taro grew up in the inner city where it was difficult for him to get to remote fishing spots. It was this very challenge that forced him to discover urban fishing locations. To his surprise he was happy to discover that the city had world class fishing too.
As he got older, Taro applied this easy access urban style of fishing world wide and has fished for monster sea bass in heart of Central Hong Kong and Yokohama Harbor. Taro has even caught monster stripers in the Bronx. Not only does Taro love this urban style of fishing but the urban lifestyle that he can combine with fishing in the city.
“I remember fishing in Wan Chai, Hong Kong with Maggie Q (actress from Mission Impossible 3), we caught 15 sea-bass in two hours, one of them weighing in at the mid 20 pound class, and right after fishing I went across the street to a Hip Hop club, Club Ing. , checked my rods in coat check and ripped it up all night long, man fishing in the city is dope!”
After having so many unbelievable experiences like this, Taro has reached a point where he has realized his mission in life is to share his knowledge and passion of what Fish City Tv is all about.
